Markets, financing and incentives for NBS

This task reviews and synthesizes knowledge and evidence on:

i) NBE opportunities, market penetration and the characteristics of present NBE markets,

ii) existing instruments and mechanisms for sustainable financing and blended financing (e.g. tradable permits, green loans, green bonds), and iii) enablers, opportunities and barriers within the emerging market for NBEs and for a sustainable financing framework.

Evidence is sourced through:

i) snowballing, semi-systematic reviews of peer reviewed literature, NBEs business/investment reports, policy documents and other grey literature materials;

ii) market diagnostic survey of investor community readiness and take-up. The task will prepare In-depth interviews with NBEs and investment/financial institutions as part of T3.2 to gain deeper understanding on specific aspects.

Evidence and insights from Task 2.3 will constitute the basis for developing market creation and for testing innovative business models and investor readiness in WP4.
